When the possibility of obtaining work in Dimboola, Victoria first came up I immediately jumped on the internet to see where we could live whilst there. Riverside Holiday Park came up as our only option other than staying out of town somewhere. From the pictures on the park website we thought it looked pretty good, especially with the river running alongside it. And as it turned out it was the perfect spot to base ourselves.
What we found when we arrived here was a lovely large park, with plenty of trees and of course the beautiful Wimmera River right on its doorstep. It was an absolute pleasure to call this place home for almost three months.

LOCATION
Riverside Holiday Park is located in Wimmera Street right alongside the picturesque Wimmera River. Dimboola is only a very small town so it is an easy stroll from the park to the main street.
THE PARK
The Riverside Holiday Park covers a large area. All the sites are very flat and there is green grass everywhere. There are plenty of powered sites and several of these are drive-thru. There are also a few en-suite sites available as well. The sites are all a very generous size. Even over the busy Christmas/New Year period we never felt crowded.

The front section of the park provides the perfect spot to camp if you don’t require power. Shady trees surround most of the park as well.
A few short steps from the park boundary is the Wimmera River. A walking track will take you right along the riverfront. There are also two pontoons on the rivers edge. One you can fish from and the other you can swim from.

AMENITIES
The park has some great amenities. The toilets and showers have all been recently revamped and have modern tiles and fittings. They were always super clean and with six showers and six toilets, you’ll never have to wait. There is also a children’s bath room which has a small tub and a toilet. A large disabled shower and toilet is included and has easy access into it.
There are two camp kitchens. One is an outdoor style and has a barbecue and seating. The other is a large indoor, fully equipped kitchen. It has two fridges, two stoves and plenty of bench space. Perfect if you are camping and want to do some extra cooking.

There is also a large games room with a television, table tennis table and couches to relax on.
If you don’t have your own accommodation then Riverside

Just outside the park boundary is the local skate park. A great spot for the kids to burn off some energy. The local pool is also just behind the park so very handy to cool off on those hot days.
THE TOWN
Riverside Holiday Park is within walking distance to everything in Dimboola. The Victoria Hotel is about 800 metres away and does a great meal. In the main street you will find the Dimboola Store which is the perfect spot to grab a coffee. The local IGA is very well stocked and was reasonably priced as well.
Whether you are looking for somewhere for a quick overnight stay or somewhere to base yourself for a week, we reckon you can’t go past this park. We will definitely be back one day.
