1. Whale Watching Gold Coast

Whale Watching Gold Coast

One of the best places in the world to go on a whale-watching tour Gold Coast. Each year, thousands of whales make their way along the coast, and it’s a sight that you won’t want to miss.

If you have a beach view from your accommodation, you can spot a whale in whale season through a window or from a balcony! We saw whales from our balcony all the time.

However, there is nothing like seeing a whale up-close and personal in its natural environment.

Leaving from Main Beach on a purpose-built 24-metre catamaran, this tour runs for 2.5 hours.

You’ll enjoy the commentary from the resident Marine Biologist about these majestic, gentle giants of our seas. Offering guaranteed sightings or a free cruise. How good is that?

If you are really fortunate, you’ll spot Migaloo, the much-loved white whale of the southern ocean whale migration. Migaloo is a humpback whale who frequents these waters and often puts on quite a show for whale watchers.

Whale-watching season on the Gold Coast runs from June to October. The best month is August, as it is the peak of the season for whale migration.

Afterwards, you’ll also enjoy a delicious champagne breakfast.

I suggest you take a jacket as the air in the Hinterland where the balloons take off can be chilly. In winter, I’d consider a scarf and beanie, too.
