When Kev and I first started travelling full-time, we had no idea just how many caravan park memberships were available. Kui Parks, G’Day, BIG4, CMCA… the list goes on!
Now, after a few years on the road, we use several memberships and each one has served us well at different times, depending on where we are and what we need.
But here’s the thing: not every membership is right for every traveller.
The Mistake Too Many Lappers Make
We’ve spoken to so many families and empty nesters in the All Around Oz community who’ve:
- Paid for a membership they never used,
- Missed out on great discounts because they didn’t know about a park network,
- Or felt totally overwhelmed trying to choose the “right one” before they even hit the road.
That’s why I’ve put together this easy-to-follow guide to help you figure out:
- Which caravan park memberships are actually worth it,
- What kind of savings you can expect,
- And most importantly, which one (or ones) match your style of travel.
Because let’s be honest – you want to save money, not waste it, right? Let’s dive into the options, share what’s worked for us, and help you make the best choice for your own adventure.

When Joining Kui Parks
When joining Kui Parks please select All Around Oz for the “How did you hear about Kui Parks.”
Our Experience
Kev and I have stayed in a few Kui Parks, and they’ve been some of our most relaxing stops. You’re more likely to find a veggie patch than a playground, and the vibe is always friendly, personal, and down-to-earth.
In many cases, the park owners greet you personally, and you’ll often find the kind of hospitality that reminds you why you fell in love with caravanning in the first place.
They’re also a great option if you’re doing inland or regional routes, lots of Kui Parks are tucked away in quiet little towns you might otherwise miss.
Pros
- Affordable membership that quickly pays for itself
- Quiet, relaxed atmosphere (great for longer stays)
- Pet-friendly at most locations
- Perfect for off-peak travel and remote routes
Cons
- Smaller network than others like G’Day or BIG4
- Less suited for families with young kids wanting lots of on-site entertainment
- You’ll need to book directly or via phone/email for some locations
Annette’s Take
Kui Parks is ideal if your idea of the perfect park is peaceful, practical, and personable. It’s not about bells and whistles—it’s about genuine hospitality and great value. We always keep our Kui Park membership active because it only takes a few nights to make it well worth the cost.
G’Day Rewards – A Solid All-Rounder for Regular Caravaners and Campers
If you’ve done any kind of research into caravan park memberships, chances are you’ve already come across G’Day Rewards.
And with over 300+ parks across Australia, it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most popular memberships for travellers doing a Big Lap or even just a few weekend getaways a year.
What is G’Day Rewards?
G’Day Rewards is the loyalty program linked to the G’Day Parks network, which includes many Discovery Parks and a wide range of privately owned, partner parks across the country.
They’ve got a strong presence in regional towns, coastal holiday spots, and popular tourist routes—so whether you’re sticking to the east coast or heading into the outback, chances are you’ll come across one.

- Validity: 2 years from the date of purchase
- Can be used online or in person
Who Is It Best For?

If you’re planning to stay in caravan parks regularly and especially in touristy, high-demand areas, G’Day Rewards can deliver serious value over the course of your trip.
Our Experience
Kev and I have used our G’Day Rewards membership dozens of times across the country from coastal Discovery Parks in Queensland to bush stays in South Australia.
The booking system is simple (especially with the app), and some of the parks have felt more like mini-resorts with pools, playgrounds, and camp kitchens that families love.
But it’s not just about facilities. What we like most is the reliability. You usually know what to expect in terms of cleanliness, amenities, and service.
We’ve also scored some great member-only deals, especially when travelling in off-peak seasons.
Pros
- Huge park network across Australia
- Easy to use online or via the app
- Great for both cabins and sites
- Often pays for itself in just a few stays
- Regular bonus offers and promo deals
Cons
- Limited discount (max $50 per stay) can be restrictive on longer stays
- Popular parks can book out early, especially during school holidays
- Less appealing if you prefer low-key or budget-style stays
Annette’s Take
If you’re planning even a few trips a year or doing your Big Lap, G’Day Rewards is a solid investment. It’s not always the cheapest option, but the convenience, comfort, and national coverage make it one of the most versatile memberships out there.
We always recommend it to first-timers who want a bit of reassurance that their park stay will tick all the right boxes.
TAWK (Travelling Australia With Kids) – Because Family Adventures Shouldn’t Cost the Earth
If you’re planning a Big Lap with your kids, you’ve probably already heard of TAWK – Travelling Australia With Kids. And if you haven’t, you’re about to love me for this one.
TAWK is not your traditional caravan park membership. It’s a community-driven initiative that partners with family-friendly caravan parks across Australia to help ease one of the biggest expenses for travelling families, accommodation.
What Does TAWK Offer?
The main perk?
Kids stay FREE for up to 2 nights at participating TAWK parks, when accompanied by two paying adults.
Yep, free.
No fine print. No complicated reward systems. Just good old-fashioned family-friendly value.
It’s designed to support families who are doing long-term or full-time travel, especially those roadschooling or taking a gap year with their kids.
Cost & Discount
- Membership Cost: $59 for life
- Perks: Kids stay free (up to 2 nights) at over 80 TAWK-friendly parks
- Some parks offer extended family discounts or longer-stay deals too

Some parks may ask to see a TAWK supporter sticker or digital badge, easy to get from the TAWK website when you register.
Who Is It Best For?
- Families doing the Big Lap
- Budget-conscious parents
- Homeschooling/roadschooling families
- Anyone travelling with kids under 17
This one’s especially good for those longer driving stretches where you’re just looking for an overnight stop that won’t blow the budget.
Our Experience
We love what TAWK stands for and so do the families in our community.
TAWK parks are usually family-owned, small to medium-sized parks that truly get the travel lifestyle. They’re not about five-star resorts, they’re about supporting families who’ve chosen to live a little differently.
And when you’re watching every dollar on a 12-month lap, saving $30–$60 a night on kid’s site fees adds up fast.
TAWK parks are usually absolute gems, clean, safe, with space for the kids to run around and no pressure to check out by 10am sharp. And there are over 180+ parks throughout Australia.
Pros
- Free to join
- Genuinely helpful for cutting down nightly costs
- Parks are generally welcoming and relaxed
- Great way to connect with other travelling families
Cons
- Discount is usually capped at 2 nights
- Some areas have limited participating parks
- You’ll need to check listings manually (no app integration)
Annette’s Take
TAWK is one of those beautiful examples of how the travelling family community looks out for each other. It’s friendly, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful for families doing the lap.
And let’s face it—when you’re feeding four mouths or more, refuelling every few days, and still trying to give your kids an amazing adventure, every dollar counts.
If you’ve got kids and you’re hitting the road, there’s no reason not to take advantage of TAWK.
BIG4 Perks+ – For Travellers Who Like a Little Extra Comfort on the Road
BIG4 is a name most caravanners know—and for good reason. With over 180 parks across Australia, they’re known for offering resort-style facilities, well-maintained sites, and a bit of added comfort that makes you feel like you’re on a true holiday.
From kids’ water parks to spotless amenities and well-stocked camp kitchens, BIG4 parks often feel like a “treat yourself” stop on the road. And with the BIG4 Perks+ membership, those little luxuries come with a nice discount too.
What is BIG4 Perks+?
BIG4 Perks+ is the loyalty program offered across the BIG4 Holiday Parks network. It rewards repeat stays and gives travellers access to exclusive perks and special offers.

Who Is It Best For?

BIG4 parks tend to be more upmarket than some of the smaller networks, so it’s ideal for travellers who appreciate that little bit of extra comfort—and don’t mind paying slightly more for it.
Our Experience
We’ve stayed at quite a few BIG4 parks over the years, especially when we know we’ll be stopping in popular tourist spots or travelling during busier times of year.
And let me tell you, they’re usually a hit with the grandkids or the kids. Whether it’s a jumping pillow, waterslide, or just the ease of booking online, BIG4 parks are designed with comfort and families in mind.
They’re also a top pick when we want a longer stay and just want everything sorted, from the laundry to the local coffee shop across the road.
Pros
- Large, well-maintained park network across Australia
- Consistent quality and amenities
- Great for families or those who want more comfort

- Good value if you stay at BIG4 parks regularly
Cons

Annette’s Take
BIG4 Perks+ is perfect if you like a little extra comfort, enjoy well-run parks with great facilities, and tend to stick to well-known routes or holiday destinations.
While the membership fee might not suit super budget-conscious travellers, we find that if you use it just a couple of times during busy seasons or longer stays, it’ll easily pay for itself.
We always keep ours active especially when we know we’ll be booking over school holidays or want a bit of downtime in a park that feels like a mini-resort.
Tasman Holiday Parks – BIG4-Backed with a Few Extra Surprises
Tasman Holiday Parks are a growing network of well-maintained parks across Australia and New Zealand, many of which are also part of the BIG4 network. That means if you have a BIG4 Perks+ membership, you’ll still get your discount at participating Tasman parks.
But what sets Tasman apart is their commitment to offering a more consistent brand experience, with a focus on modern facilities, great locations, and family-friendly comfort.
They’re popping up in all the right spots, coastal QLD, NSW beach towns, regional VIC, and even Tasmania and New Zealand.
Cost & Discount
- Membership Cost: Covered under BIG4 Perks+
- Discount: 10% off (up to $50 per stay) if it’s a BIG4-listed Tasman park
- Extras:
- Some Tasman parks offer direct booking perks (e.g. stay deals, activity discounts)
- Access to premium-style facilities like waterparks, cafés, and playgrounds in select parks
Not all Tasman parks are part of BIG4, so it’s worth checking each listing individually before you book.
Who Is It Best For?
- Families wanting full-service parks
- Holidaymakers looking for consistent quality
- BIG4 members travelling through QLD, TAS, and NZ
- Travellers who like a bit of resort-style comfort
Our Take
Tasman parks we’ve stayed in have felt like a nice step up fresh facilities, beautifully landscaped grounds, and staff who go the extra mile. They’re often located in high-demand holiday destinations, so it’s worth booking early during peak times.
You’ll get all the perks of BIG4, plus the peace of mind of booking through a consistently branded network.
Pros
- Great for families or longer stays
- BIG4 discounts apply at most locations
- Expanding quickly across Aus & NZ
- Clean, modern, resort-style feel
Cons
- Not all Tasman parks are BIG4 members
- Some premium sites/cabins can be pricey during school holidays
- Less suited for budget or off-grid travellers
Annette’s Take
Tasman is one to keep on your radar, especially if you already have BIG4 Perks+. We love staying at their parks when we’re due for a rest, recharge, and reliable comfort (with a laundry and a decent coffee nearby!). It’s like a little reset on the road.
Ingenia Holidays – BIG4-Linked Parks with a Strong East Coast Presence
Ingenia Holidays offers a network of well-located, family-friendly parks primarily across the East Coast of Australia—from tropical Far North Queensland right down to the NSW South Coast. Many of their parks are affiliated with BIG4, which means you can often use your BIG4 Perks+ membership at participating locations.
But Ingenia also runs its own promotions and direct booking deals, so it’s worth checking their site before you book, especially if you’re travelling in school holidays or off-peak.
Cost & Discount
- Membership Cost: No specific Ingenia membership required
- Discounts:
- 10% off for BIG4 Perks+ members (at participating parks)
- Direct deals via their website (e.g. stay 3, pay 2 offers, kids stay free, mid-week specials)
- Bonus Perks:

- Seasonal promotions unique to the Ingenia Holidays brand
Who Is It Best For?
- Families travelling the East Coast
- Holidaymakers looking for reliable comfort + location
- BIG4 members want more park options
- Casual trippers and long-weekenders
Our Experience
While not all Ingenia parks are branded as BIG4, many offer the same quality and consistency you’d expect, especially around coastal hubs and family hotspots. They seem to be great for school holiday trips, and they’re often conveniently located near shops, attractions, and beaches.
If you’re a BIG4 Perks+ member, it’s worth checking the Ingenia Holidays site before booking—sometimes their direct offers beat even the membership discount.
Pros
- Great locations—especially QLD and NSW coasts
- Good facilities for families (pools, playgrounds, BBQs)
- Accept BIG4 Perks+ discounts at many parks
- The website regularly offers strong direct deals
- No separate membership needed
Cons
- Not all Ingenia parks are part of BIG4 (check listings)
- Less suited to remote or budget travellers
- Fewer discounts for non-BIG4 members unless booking direct promos
Annette’s Take
Ingenia Holidays is a great “comfort-first” option, especially if you’re travelling with kids and want somewhere reliable near beaches, shops, and attractions. It’s also a good one to bookmark even if you don’t have BIG4 Perks+, thanks to their regular direct deals and seasonal promos.
If you’re an East Coast traveller, this brand deserves a spot in your travel planning folder.
Reflections Holiday Parks – Coastal Comforts with a Laid-Back, Local Feel
If you’re travelling through New South Wales, chances are you’ll stumble across one of the many Reflections Holiday Parks dotted along the coast, and trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
Reflections is a NSW Government-owned network of around 30+ parks, all located on some of the state’s most scenic real estate—think beachfront sites, lakeside getaways, and national park backdrops.
But what sets them apart isn’t just the locations (although they are stunning)—it’s that they’re all run with a not-for-profit focus, meaning the money goes back into improving the parks, not into shareholders’ pockets.
Cost & Discount
- Membership Cost: Free
- Discount: 10% off site and cabin bookings when you join online
- Perks:
- Member-only promotions
- Early notice of seasonal deals
- Discounts at selected partner businesses
- Access to mid-week stay offers, depending on the season
You just need to sign up for free online—no card, no catch.
Who Is It Best For?
- NSW-based travellers
- Coastal and nature lovers
- Couples or retirees looking for quiet escapes
- Short stays and weekenders
- Eco-conscious travellers
If you’re planning to spend time along the NSW coast, Reflections is absolutely worth a look. While the network doesn’t stretch beyond NSW, their locations are so well-placed that even just a few stays make it worthwhile.
Our Experience
Kev and I have stayed at a few Reflections parks, and they’ve always felt like a step away from the noise—clean, peaceful, and surrounded by natural beauty.
Whether it’s watching the sun set over the water, hearing the kookaburras in the morning, or walking into town for a quiet coffee, the experience always feels relaxed and connected to the landscape.
Plus, the free membership is a no-brainer.
Pros
- It’s free, zero risk to join
- Breathtaking NSW locations (many right on the beach or lake)
- Parks are well-kept, with a calm, peaceful vibe
- Supporting a not-for-profit tourism model
Cons
- Only available in NSW
- Fewer facilities for kids compared to BIG4 or Discovery Parks
- Can book out fast in school holidays or long weekends
- Not ideal for full-time lappers outside of NSW
Annette’s Take
Reflections Holiday Parks is one of those networks that feels like a hidden gem, especially if you’re after a few nights of rest, recharge, and reconnection with nature.
It’s not about bells and whistles. It’s about location, tranquillity, and ease.
And the best bit? You don’t need to pay a cent to benefit from the membership. So if you’re headed anywhere near the NSW coastline, sign up, and keep it in your back pocket.
CMCA Membership – The Ultimate Choice for Self-Contained Travellers
If you’re travelling in a self-contained motorhome or camper, and you enjoy low-cost or free camping over touristy holiday parks, then the Campervan & Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) is one of the most valuable memberships you can get your hands on.
While it’s not a caravan park chain in the traditional sense, CMCA offers access to a wide network of low-cost campgrounds, park discounts, dump point facilities, and a community of like-minded travellers—all built around the spirit of freedom, connection, and self-reliance on the road.
Cost & Discount
- Annual Membership: $44.50 (single) or $79.00 (joint)
- Discounts:
- Reduced rates at CMCA RV Parks and partner caravan parks
- Access to low-cost member-only campgrounds (from $3–$15 per night)
- Member discounts on insurance, fuel, gear and services
- Extra Perks:
- Full access to the GeoWiki X app (campsite directory)
- Use of CMCA dump points nationwide
- The Wanderer magazine (monthly)
Who Is It Best For?
- Self-contained travellers (toilet & grey water)
- Retirees or solo travellers doing long laps
- Budget-conscious full-timers
- Off-grid and freedom campers
- Motorhome and campervan owners
This membership is perfect if you’re travelling with a rig that doesn’t rely on park facilities, and you prefer wide-open spaces or budget-friendly stays over holiday resort parks.
Our Experience
While Kev and I aren’t in a motorhome, we know plenty of travellers who are—and CMCA is often one of the first memberships they recommend.
The CMCA RV Parks are usually in handy locations, offer flat sites, and include essentials like dump points and water. They’re not flashy, but they’re clean, quiet, and perfect for an overnight stop or a budget-conscious longer stay.
And the GeoWiki X app alone is worth the membership, especially for planning your next stop with accurate, up-to-date info from other members who’ve been there.
Pros
- Low-cost stays in CMCA member parks
- Access to a huge network of free and budget camps across Australia
- Exclusive dump point network
- Strong member community and great resources (GeoWiki X app, Wanderer magazine)
- Insurance and product discounts for RV owners
Cons
- Only for self-contained vehicles (toilets, grey water, etc.)
- RV Parks offer minimal facilities—no camp kitchens, pools, etc.
- Less suitable for families with kids who need powered sites or entertainment
- Not relevant for those without an RV or caravan
Annette’s Take
If you’re in a motorhome, campervan, or fully self-contained caravan, and your idea of a great night is a quiet stay under the stars (not a waterslide and pizza oven), then CMCA is a no-brainer.
It’s less about the bells and whistles and more about supporting your lifestyle of freedom, simplicity, and smart travel choices.
We often recommend it to our empty-nester audience and anyone embracing a slower, more self-sufficient way of life on the road. And even if you only stay at a few CMCA parks each year, the savings plus the info inside the app make it more than worth the small annual fee.
Family Parks Travel Rewards – A Solid Option for Travellers Who Like Variety (and Pet-Friendly Perks)
Family Parks is a well-established network of over 120 parks across Australia, plus more than 400 parks in New Zealand, making it a great option for lappers who might eventually cross the ditch.
What sets Family Parks apart is their independent spirit. Most parks are family-run, which means you’ll often find a warm, personal welcome. They cater to a range of travellers—especially those with pets—and many locations are in scenic or regional areas that feel more down-to-earth than commercial.
Cost & Discount
- Annual Membership: $45
- Discount: 10% off site and cabin bookings (up to $40 per stay)
- Extras:
- Pet-friendly focus
- Discounts at partner attractions, restaurants, and services
- International use (if heading to NZ)
- Bonus offers through their loyalty app
Who Is It Best For?
- Pet owners
- Travellers who like supporting family-run parks
- Those doing road trips in Australia and NZ
- Grey nomads and laid-back travellers
Our Experience
Kev and I have stayed at a few Family Parks and always found them to be friendly, welcoming, and very relaxed. They’re not as polished as BIG4 or G’Day chains, but they make up for it with charm, location, and a more personal touch.
They’re often in towns just off the main tourist tracks, which makes them perfect for discovering places you might otherwise pass by.
And for pet travellers? These parks are some of the most accommodating around.
Pros
- Very pet-friendly
- Supportive of smaller, family-owned parks
- Great mix of locations around Australia and NZ
- Discounts at local businesses (great for long stays)
Cons
- Not as many parks as larger networks
- Fewer “resort-style” features
- Booking systems can vary (some direct-only, others online)
- Per-stay discount cap means longer stays won’t always save more
Annette’s Take
Family Parks is a great “middle ground” membership—affordable, flexible, and supportive of smaller Aussie operators. If you’re travelling with pets, looking for a friendly vibe, or planning to pop over to NZ at some point, this membership is worth having in your toolkit.
Auto Club Memberships (NRMA, RACV, RAA, RAA, etc.) – A Hidden Gem for Road-Trippers
Now here’s a sneaky one a lot of people forget—your state-based auto club membership (like NRMA, RACQ, RACV, RAA, etc.) can unlock some decent savings on caravan parks too.
While it’s primarily used for roadside assistance, these memberships often come with a 10% discount at selected holiday parks, particularly if the parks are owned or affiliated with the auto club (like NRMA Parks and Resorts).
Cost & Discount
- Cost: Included with your roadside assistance (prices vary per state)
- Discount: 10% off site or cabin bookings at NRMA or RAC-affiliated parks
- Extras:
- Roadside assistance Australia-wide
- Discounts on attractions, travel insurance, car hire, and entertainment
- Often stacks with seasonal park deals or fuel savings
You don’t need to buy anything extra, just flash your membership card when booking.
Who Is It Best For?
- NSW, QLD, VIC, SA travellers
- Casual holidaymakers and short-stay road trippers
- Travellers who already pay for roadside assistance anyway
- Families on school holiday getaways
Our Experience
We always have our roadside membership active for peace of mind, and we’ve used the accommodation discounts a few times, especially at NRMA parks in Queensland, NSW and recently in WA.
It’s not a dedicated caravanning membership like the others, but if you’re already a member, you might as well use the perks.
Pros
- No extra cost (if you already have auto club coverage)
- Park discounts, plus other travel savings
- Great for casual or part-time travellers
- Roadside peace of mind is a bonus!
Cons
- Only valid at participating parks (mainly NRMA or RAC parks)
- Not custom-built for caravanners (less focused support or travel tools)
- No loyalty points or exclusive deals like other memberships offer
Annette’s Take
Auto club memberships are great value for casual or spontaneous travellers. If you’re already paying for roadside help, the 10% park discount is a handy little bonus. It won’t replace a dedicated caravanning membership, but for those doing short trips or east coast getaways, it’s a nice perk to have in your back pocket.

Annette’s Final Tip
The best membership for you really comes down to how you travel and where you go most often.
For us? We’ve found that having a mix of two or three memberships gives us the flexibility to save wherever we stay, whether we’re chasing sunshine along the east coast or ducking into a quiet country park for a few days.
If in doubt, start with G’Day Rewards or BIG4, and add others like TAWK or CMCA once you’ve settled into your rhythm on the road.
Quick Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Membership
Having a caravan park membership is one thing, making it work for you is where the real value kicks in. Here are some of the tips Kev and I (and many in the All Around Oz community) swear by to help you save money, avoid surprises, and travel smarter.
1. Track Your Savings as You Go
Keep a little note (in your phone, notebook, or travel journal) of how much you save each time you use your membership.
“Saved $25 with G’Day at Discovery Park – Ballina”
“TAWK saved us $40 on two kid nights in Mildura”
It’s so satisfying to look back and see how quickly those memberships pay for themselves.
2. Use the Apps (They’re Actually Helpful!)
Most of the bigger networks like G’Day, BIG4, and Reflections have apps that make it easy to:
- Search for parks
- See available discounts
- Book quickly while on the road
They also often include maps, last-minute deals, and directions, which come in super handy when plans change (as they often do on the road!).
3. Call the Park Directly for Best Results
Even if you’re using a membership, it’s worth phoning ahead, especially for:
- Pet policies
- Late check-ins
- Asking about unlisted deals (you’d be surprised!)
You’ll often get a more flexible, friendly response just by speaking to someone on the ground.
4. Don’t Forget About Off-Peak Specials
Travelling outside school holidays or peak times? You’ll often stack your membership discount on top of other deals like:
- Stay 4, Pay 3 nights
- Mid-week specials
- Free upgrade offers
You don’t need to chase “free camps only” to get great value
5. Join the Membership Emails or Loyalty Clubs
Yes, I know, none of us needs more emails.
But in this case? You’ll often get early access to sales, birthday treats, and exclusive member-only promos just for being on the list.
G’Day and BIG4 are especially good for this—they’ve saved us a few sneaky dollars more than once.
6. Don’t Double Up on Similar Networks
You probably don’t need both G’Day and BIG4 unless you’re a full-time lapper. Pick one based on where you’ll travel most often, and save your cash for a membership that fills a different gap (like CMCA, Kui, or TAWK).
7. Mix Paid Parks with Free Camps
The smartest travellers balance their budget by using:
- Caravan park memberships for comfort, laundry days, and regrouping
- Free camps or low-cost CMCA parks in between
This way, you enjoy the best of both worlds—and keep the budget looking healthy.
Annette’s Bonus Tip:
“When in doubt, just ask: “Do you offer a discount with [membership name]?”
Even if the park isn’t officially listed, many smaller ones will still give you a little something just for supporting the network.
FAQs – Caravan Park Memberships: What Travellers Ask Most
These are some of the most common questions I get from fellow lappers in the All Around Oz community:
Are caravan park memberships really worth it?
Yes, if you use them strategically. Even casual caravaners can make their money back in just a few stays. The key is picking a membership (or two) that suits your travel style and locations. Don’t overcommit just choose what you’ll actually use.
Can I use more than one membership at the same time?
Absolutely. We do!
Kev and I often use Kui Parks and G’Day Rewards. The trick is knowing when each one makes sense, and not doubling up on similar networks (like G’Day and BIG4 unless you’re full-time).
Do I need a membership to stay in these parks?
No, you can stay without one. But having a membership means:
- You’ll save 10% (or more) per night,
- Get access to exclusive deals,
- And unlock other travel perks that quickly cover the cost of joining.
Is TAWK a membership I have to pay for?
Nope! It’s completely free. If you’re travelling with kids under 17, TAWK is a must, even if you only use it once or twice. The savings add up fast.
Which membership is best for free campers or off-grid travellers?
Definitely CMCA. If you’re self-contained and prefer freedom camping, CMCA’s low-cost RV parks, dump points, and access to free camp listings are incredibly valuable.
I already have NRMA/RACV—should I still get a caravanning membership?
If you’re travelling regularly or doing a Big Lap, yes. Auto club memberships are great for short getaways and offer handy discounts, but Kui, G’Day, or BIG4 will give you more consistent savings and better access to nationwide park networks.
Final Thoughts: Choose Smart, Travel Well
Caravan park memberships aren’t about “just getting a discount” they’re about supporting your lifestyle, stretching your budget, and helping you feel more confident and in control on the road.
And remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all. Your perfect membership is the one that matches how you travel, who’s in the van with you, and the kind of experiences you’re chasing.
You might only need one. Or you might end up like us, with a little stack of cards, each saving us in different ways along the journey.
Now it’s your turn!
Which memberships do you use on the road?
Have you found one that’s saved you hundreds? Or one that wasn’t worth it?
Share your tips or experiences in the comments, we’d love to hear what works for YOU.

Great read Annette!
Wanted to add, with Big 4 memberships. You can join without paying the full membership, when you make a booking and the staff ask if you’re a member. They can join you up on the spot, so depending on the total stay, you could almost receive your membership for free. Works too with renewing your membership. Instead of applying your discount to your booking, you can apply it to renewing your membership.
Happy camping!
