We don’t have an oven in our caravan so we cook absolutely everything in our Weber. I have made Banana Bread in the Weber Baby Q a few times now and it’s always delicious.

If you have a couple of brown, soft bananas sitting around making Banana Bread is a great way to use them up so they don’t go to waste.

GETTING THE TEMP RIGHT IN THE WEBER BABY Q

Pre-heat the Weber for 10 minutes prior to putting the Banana Bread in. We then turned the temperature gauge down to the lowest setting. We know the Weber can get pretty hot and I didn’t want the bottom of the bread to burn before the rest cooked.

Here’s the recipe for you to try. You can DOWNLOAD it as well as watch how it all came together on You Tube.

BANANA BREAD RECIPE

1 ¾ cups Self Raising Flour

¼ cup Plain Flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

⅔ cup brown sugar

½ cup milk

2 eggs

50 grams butter, melted and cooled

2-3 very ripe bananas, mashed

  1. Pre-heat your Weber BBQ on high for 10 minutes.
  2. Line a 21cm loaf tin with baking paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Combine flours, cinnamon and sugar in a large bowl.
  4. Add the milk, mashed bananas, eggs and butter to flour mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Pour mixture into the loaf pan.
  6. Turn Weber down to the lowest point it will go to.
  7. Place loaf tin on a trivett with a heat diffusing tray underneath.
  8. Cook for 50 minutes or until a skewer stuck in the centre of the loaf comes away clean.
  9. Serve warm, plain or with a lick of butter. Enjoy!

  1. Yum! Thanks for the recipe, we made this banana bread in our Webber Q on the weekend and it was delicious. I didn’t have brown sugar so used about 1 tbsp maple syrup instead.

  2. Thanks for the recipe- I’ve cooked this a few times now and have been complimented each time (which is good considering I hate and don’t eat bananas)!
