We recently attended the very first NextGen Caravans Owners Group get-together which was held at Rivershore on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We had heard lots of good things about Rivershore, so we were more than a little bit keen to check it out.
LOCATION
Rivershore is located on David Low Way in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Diddillibah. Resting on the banks of the Maroochy River, Rivershore is an easy drive from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
ABOUT
I think it’s fairly safe to say that Rivershore is still brand new. It has only been opened since August 2016. Take a look around and you can see that it has been designed with the holiday-maker in mind. It covers a huge area and has 80 sites, plus 15 ‘Glamping’ tents.
I was able to take a peak in one of the Glamping Tents and they are so lovely. They are spread out along the front of the property and there is only an expanse of grass between them and the water. Two of these are set up to cater for families, although camp beds and port-a-cots can be added to the others.

FACILITIES
The facilities at Rivershore are nothing short of amazing and everyone has been catered for. To start with there are three amenity blocks which every time I used them were immaculately clean. Unlike some other
There are also three camp kitchens equipped with barbecues and tables and chairs. These are spread out throughout the park so everyone has easy access to them.
There are two purpose built fire pits located within the park as well. These overlook the river and have huge sandstone blocks around them where you can sit and enjoy the view, a beer and a chat.
Kayaks, SUP’s and push bikes are available for hire from the office.
FOR THE KIDS
This is one park where the kids have not been forgotten. The pool area is absolutely amazing and has two huge water slides where the kids can enjoy hours of fun. There is also a lovely shallow kids pool, so younger kids are looked after too. All heated during the winter months so they’ll never want to get out.
Add to this a playground area adjacent to the pool, a huge jumping pillow and a mini golf course and the kids will have a blast. During school holidays there are organised activities such as movie nights, kids discos and colouring competitions.
FOR THE ADULTS
Whilst the kids have been well-catered for at Rivershore, the adults haven’t been forgotten either. The pool area is not just for the kids. It has a designated lap lane for anyone who feels like getting in a bit of exercise. Plus, it has open spa seating where you can sit and enjoy a drink. Or you could just lay in one of three large sun lounges that are pool side and read a book!
There is also an onsite restaurant, cafe and bar. This is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a coffee, meal or drink whilst the kids splash away in the pool. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner you’ll be dodging cooking as often as you can.
There are also plenty of activities available for adults including massages and yoga. And lets not forget ‘Happy Hour’ either.
PET FRIENDLY
Rivershore is pet friendly, on powered sites, all year round. Dogs are to be well-behaved and kept on a leash at all times. Pets are not permitted in the safari tents.
PRICING
Rivershore is now part of Ingenia Holidays. Staying at Rivershore is definitely a resort experience so if this is what you and your family enjoy, then I would recommend it.
