Give the Gift of a Bucket List Tick this Christmas

November 26, 2020 By Melissa 2 Comments

One of the best things about travelling around Australia, is the many opportunities it gives us to tick something off our ‘Bucket List’. A couple of years ago, I was able to tick an item off my list when I went Beach Horse Riding. This was such an amazing experience and something I had wanted to do for a long time. Ambling down an almost deserted beach in the early morning sunshine, with just the sound of the waves crashing on the beach was bliss.

With Christmas rapidly approaching and the call going out to ‘Holiday Here This Year’ we reckon it’s the perfect time to get out and start ticking a few items off your Bucket List.

If you love adventure, the great outdoors or just want to try something new, then why not give the gift of an experience that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Australian adventure experience company, Adrenaline has hundreds of experiences to choose from. If you are stuck for ideas they even have a Christmas gift guide to help you out. No matter what you’re interested in or where you are located in Australia, you will find the perfect experience for you or your loved one.

With so many unique experiences to choose from, it can be hard to pick just one. So, we have put together this list of 5 experiences that we’d love to try and think maybe you would too.

V8 SUPERCARS EXPERIENCE

Brenden has always been a keen follower of the V8 Supercars so I know he would absolutely love this. We have driven around the Mount Panorama track in Bathurst NSW a few times. But I couldn’t even begin to imagine how thrilling it would be to actually race around the track in a V8 Supercar.

A V8 Supercars Experience at Bathurst will have you tackling the famous racetrack for a two lap ride. Strapped into the passenger seat with your personal “chaffeur” taking you for a very quick run around arguably the best race track in the world. The speed and “G” forces will amaze you as you make your way across the mountain. With the final run down Conrod straight at well over 250kph, this will be a tale to be told for years.

Or if you don’t like the idea of just being the passenger you can opt for a four lap package where you get behind the wheel with a professional instructor seated next to you. What a blast!

Can’t get to Bathurst? No worries. V8 Supercars Experiences are also available on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

WHALE SHARK SWIM TOUR

Swimming with Whale Sharks is something that I know is high on many people’s bucket lists. These giant, gentle creatures of the sea can be found in the warm waters of Ningaloo Reef, on the West Australian coast. The best time to see these magnificent creatures is between March and August.

Tours are for a full-day and guarantee that you will see whale sharks and get to swim with them. The added bonus with a Whale Shark Tour is that you will also get to see a variety of other marine creatures including colourful fish, marine turtles and manta rays. If you are lucky you might even get to spot a  humpback whale or two.

Swimming with these majestic creatures would be a special experience.

HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE

High on my list of once in a life-time experiences is definitely taking a hot air balloon ride. This is something that I’m pretty sure would be worth getting up early for. Hot Air Balloon rides are available in so many beautiful locations but I think my first choice would have to be the Hunter Valley in NSW.

Famous for its vineyards, I can just imagine floating above rows of green vines, with the rolling hills in the background. Followed by a champagne breakfast of course!

The views over the Hunter Valley in NSW would be just stunning.

HELICOPTER FLIGHT

There is just something about helicopters that fascinates both of us. The manoeuvrability of the machine and the ability to see out of one so clearly is amazing. Plus there are so many incredible places where you can take a flight! Do you want to get a birds eye view of one of our major cities like Sydney or Melbourne? Or maybe it’s taking in the views over Byron Bay, Phillip Island or Port Arthur.

But for us, we think a scenic flight over Uluru would be a truly incredible experience. I don’t think there would be a better way for you to truly appreciate the sheer size of our famous rock or the spectacular beauty of our Outback until you have seen it from the air.

This would certainly be the best way to see Uluru.

KAYAKING TOUR

Here in Australia we have the most amazing wilderness areas that are just begging to be explored. To slow the pace down and really see these places we think a kayak tour would be just perfect.

My number one pick would be a guided tour of the stunning Freycinet National Park, exploring the Coles Bay coastline. These tours cater to all abilities and are perfect for families too. I can’t think of anything more perfect than gliding over the clear waters spotting both marine life and birdlife as you go.

We do hope that this has given you some inspiration to tick something off your bucket list. Or maybe it will help someone you know tick something off their bucket list. But of course, if one of these ideas doesn’t appeal, then you can always choose a gift voucher that can be used for an experience of your choosing.
