NXT Journey Trailbound Duffle Bag – Review

July 10, 2020 By Melissa Leave a Comment

We were gifted the Trailbound Bag by NXT Journey.

Late last year when we were working in Cootamundra we had the opportunity to meet local business owner Simon, from NXT Journey. Simon started making bags suited to the needs of truck drivers back in 2013. The bags were a great success. Then many owners of the bags started commenting that they were great for weekend getaways as well.

Enter the Trailbound Duffle Bag! When we received this bag, we immediately saw how well designed it was. We knew that it would be perfect for those trips where we left the van behind. Little did we know at the time, that Brenden would end up using it as work bag as well when Covid put a temporary stop to our travels.

FEATURES OF THE TRAILBOUND DUFFLE BAG

This is one good looking bag. Unlike other bags, it doesn’t collapse when you are trying to pack it as it has padded sidewalls. The base of it is made from a heavy vinyl type material with the side walls being a nylon canvas.

The base has two zippered sections both lined with waterproof canvas. This means if you have clothes or shoes that are wet or muddy you can put them in this section without getting the rest of your gear dirty. It also has a side zippered area that is perfect for putting your dirty clothes in. Very effectively separating them from your clean clothes.

The dimensions of this bag are quite generous as well. The top main section of the bag has internal dimensions of 52cm(L) x 32(W) x 30(H) = 50L. The bottom shoe section is 52cm(L) x 32(W) x 8(H) = 13L.

Inside the bag there is plenty of room for all your gear. There is even a padded section that is perfect for holding a tablet or small laptop. Outside there is a large zippered pocket on one side and two smaller pockets on the other side.

MULTIPLE USES

We have been using this bag for over 6 months. It has been on a plane three times. Since Brenden went back to driving trucks at the start of Covid it has done multiple trips with him. It has been in and out of truck stop bathrooms and in and out of the truck multiple times and there is hardly a mark on it.

Testament we think to what is a very well made bag. Off course we are looking forward to putting it to good use when we hit the road again in a few weeks time.

For a further look at this great bag, check out the short video we put together on You Tube.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, we think this bag would make an ideal gift for your travelling Dad. You can also have a name or your travelling logo added to the bag.
