Well just like that we have reached the end of month five on the road. Our time in Dimboola has also come to an end. We are currently making our way back towards Cowra. We will be leaving the van there for a couple of weeks and heading back to the Gold Coast to see the kids and celebrate Miss Oz’s 21st.
MEETING NEW FRIENDS
As I mentioned in Month Four on the Road, one of the things we love about travelling is meeting other travellers. This month we got to meet fellow travellers and bloggers, Vicki and Glenn from Happy Campers Australia. We have been following each others adventures for a number of years now and it was so good to finally meet in person.
We enjoyed a couple of drinks together and of course comparing each others adventures. As they have been travelling full-time for a lot longer than us they had some awesome hints and tips!
AUSTRALIA DAY LONG WEEKEND
We took the opportunity to do some more exploring around the local area. We went for a drive out to Ebenezer Mission which is located a few kilometres out of Dimboola. First established in 1859 by Moravian missionaries, it operated until 1904. It is presently closed but the church can be seen clearly from the road. We even found a few dirt tracks along the river to explore.
We also returned to Nhill to visit the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre. The Heritage Centre is located on a former World War II RAAF training base. An excellent spot to visit if you are interested in aviation and our wartime history.
We also decided that we needed to head back to the Sheep Hills silo in order to obtain some drone footage. These silos are possibly one of my favourites. Just love the colours and the detail in them.
Now to our monthly income and expense report. Brenden had a couple of quieter weeks so our income is about the same as last month. But we had no additional or unexpected expenses so we did manage to save a little bit.
$4,932.52 (All sources)
Our total expenses for the month were $3,722.20.
- Caravan Repayment $1,213.17 (See Month Two post for details)
- Caravan Park $740.00
- Food $587.13
- Laundry $40.00
- Fuel $288.26
- Insurance $159.24
- Health Insurance $ 252.85
- Chemist $8.29

- Alcohol $47.98
- Gifts $146.00
- Phones $68.40

Next month our report will look a bit different. We will be back on the road for part of it but staying with family for most of it.
We hope that by sharing our expenses we can give others an idea of what costs they might encounter but also that we have had no trouble securing work.
